A Convent Above The Sea: Zuhre & Adem’s Wedding in Blanes

You reach El Convent de Blanes by climbing. The road leaves the harbour behind and rises towards Punta de Santa Anna, the headland where the Costa Brava begins, to a building that has stood there since 1583. Pines, the scent of herbs, and the sea opening out below. It's a place that seems to slow people down.

Zuhre and Adem arrived with a flourish of nerves, excitement, and endless adoration for each other.

When we first spoke, the part that stayed with me was the feeling of peace in their relationship. They are a couple who are well and truly at home in each other’s company. I knew then that their ceremony didn't need decoration. It needed to be true.

A beautiful and rich ceremony, featuring Turkish and British elements, via Saudi Arabia, and conducted on the devastatingly gorgeous Costa Brava.

“We honestly don’t know where to begin when it comes to writing this review because “amazing” just doesn’t feel like enough. From the very first moment we met our officiant, we knew we were in the safest and most wonderful hands, but she completely exceeded every expectation we had.

She was absolutely spectacular. She had the incredible ability to have everyone laughing one minute and crying happy tears the next — sometimes somehow doing both at exactly the same time! 😂🥹 She brought so much warmth, love, personality and heart to our ceremony, and somehow managed to capture our relationship so perfectly that it felt like she had known us for years.

Our ceremony wasn’t just beautiful; it felt completely personal and completely us. Every word, every little story and every moment had so much thought and feeling behind it. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and yet there was so much laughter and joy. She created an atmosphere that we will never, ever forget.

What meant the most to us was how genuinely invested she was in making our day special. She didn’t just officiate our wedding — she helped tell our love story, and she made one of the biggest moments of our lives feel even more magical.

We will forever be grateful that she was the person standing there with us as we made one of the most important promises of our lives. Looking back, we wouldn’t change a single thing, and we know that a huge part of why our ceremony was so incredibly special was because of her.
